How to fix Next Chat requests that never reach AI Code With

Send a short, easy-to-spot message from the chat page, then open AI Code With usage records and search by send time and model ID. A record means the relay received the call; no record means Next Chat sent it somewhere else.

Do not treat “copied” or “settings saved” as a successful connection. The only checkable signals are a normal model reply and a matching usage-record entry.

Open Settings and confirm Custom Endpoint is enabled. Keep the OpenAI provider. Then pick the Model ID you entered on the chat page.

If the switch is off, turn it on, save, and send another test message. New threads sometimes fall back to the last built-in model.

After saving settings you must send another test message. Turning the switch on without sending cannot prove the request reached AI Code With.

A usage-record row with the matching model and timestamp means the request reached AI Code With. If there is no record, reopen Settings, confirm Custom Endpoint is still on, and pick the Model ID you entered on the chat page.
