Claude Code account banned: can you still use it?

You can keep using the Claude Code tool, but not through the old account. Only Anthropic can handle bans and appeals; we cannot restore accounts and make no promises about bans. To get back to work, use an API key instead: in the global config ~/.claude/settings.json, point the Base URL at https://api.aicodewith.ai and pay per token from your balance, with no Claude account login.

1. Create a key
Sign up, open API Keys in the dashboard and create a key. See how to get an API key.
2. Edit Claude Code's global config
Open the global config ~/.claude/settings.json, put the Base URL and key in env, save and restart Claude Code. The Base URL is the bare domain, with no /v1.

3. Verify
Run claude, then /status. If the Base URL shows https://api.aicodewith.ai, you are connected.

Channel tips

Pay as you go, no monthly or yearly plan: top up a balance and pay per token used. The balance stays valid for 12 months and does not reset monthly.
One model can run through several channels with different prices (discounts) and routes. New accounts have the recommended channels on by default.

Can using a relay get me banned too?

We make no promises about bans. The relay uses an AICodeWith key and never logs in to your Claude account; follow the applicable terms of service.

Can you restore my banned Claude account?

No. Only Anthropic handles bans and appeals for official accounts.

Do I need to redo my projects?

No. Only the Base URL and key in ~/.claude/settings.json change; project files are untouched.

Does the balance expire?
