How to fix Cline reporting Model Not Found or an unknown model
Model Not Found means the requested model ID is not in the list AI Code With offers. It is usually solved by picking the correct model in the Cline Model dropdown.
Start with these checks
The requested model ID does not match what AI Code With offers.
- Cline reports Model Not Found or an unknown model.
- The selected model ID is not one of the models AI Code With offers
- Open Cline settings and look at the Model dropdown options

Check where the model ID comes from
The model ID must be one AI Code With actually offers and must match the selected provider. Prefer choosing from the Cline Model dropdown over typing a model name.

Pick the correct model
In Cline settings, switch the Model to one AI Code With offers (e.g. claude-sonnet-4-6) and confirm the API Provider is Anthropic.

Check access and verify
If the model exists in the dropdown but still errors, check whether the current API key can access it. After picking the right model, a normal reply means the setup is complete.
